Department of Transportation
We have experienced Substance Abuse Professionals (SAP) specially trained to evaluate employees who have violated a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol program regulation and make recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
We accept referrals from the Recovering Professionals Program (RPP), which is a confidential referral and monitoring program designed for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists and podiatrists in South Carolina who are experiencing problems related to alcohol and/or other drug abuse or dependence, or from a dual diagnosis of addiction and mental illness. The program ensures that impaired professionals receive the help they need at the earliest point possible.
These specialized services are available for individuals and families who are experiencing problems related to gambling addiction. Counselors have received extensive training in this area and provide a range of services to address the unique and critical needs of this population. Services include an individualized assessment and treatment plan for each individual. Group sessions deal with: •The nature of compulsive gambling •Denial and recovery •The relapse process •Relapse prevention and other pertinent issues
Following the completion of services recommended in the treatment plan, referrals are made to continuing care groups as appropriate (e.g., the National Council on Problem Gambling, Gam-Anon and others).
Often time’s substance use increases one’s risk for communicable diseases such as: HIV, Hepatitis C, or TB. We provide education on these risks and also with identifying and describing HIV and STD’s. We provide free and confidential HIV testing for clients. We partner with Care Team (www.careteamsc.org) to provide prevention and education materials to our clients and can also make referrals directly to Care Team for treatment and support.
Employee Assistance Program
